- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪My friend Gaynor saw Dr. Albrecht in late November and was referred by Dr. Albrecht to an internal specialist for some six or more weeks later, into the new year. Gaye became very very debilitated by mid December 7 and Dr. Albrecht was unable to expedite a referral and also neglected to send her directly for any further tests. A simple stool test would have revealed the urgency and an ultrasound would have been meaningful. As it was, Gaye's blood test showed anemia and indeed she was bleeding inside, In January It became evident that not only did my friend Gaye have colon cancer, but that it had also spread not just to the liver, but throughout 90% of her liver. After seeing the specialist she qualified for a colonoscopy but it was too late. The spread of the cancer was evident with a simple ultrasound taken at the hospital. Gaye had seen Dr. Albrecht and had been frustrated with her for many years - Gaye always meant to get around to changing doctors and I urged her to, but she did not.
